Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors have all announced that they have a shared goal of producing 40 to 50 percent of their new vehicles to be electric in 2023. The Federal Government is pledging to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations as part of its infrastructure improvements. This makes for the perfect environment for the rise of electric RVs.
One of the biggest changes we could see for RV living in 2023 is the rise of electric RVs. More and more people have become concerned about the environment. And with this growing concern, the demand for electric vehicles is only going to continue to grow. This means that in 2023, we could see a lot more RVs that are powered by electricity. Or RV’s that have some sort of hybrid power source.
Winnebago and Thor have already debuted concept electric RVs. And the luxury RV manufacturer Bowlus made the world’s first all-electric, solar-powered RV. Battery makers like Battle Born Batteries are also increasing the off-grid potential of all types of RVs.

The Growth Of The RV-Sharing Economy is going to have a huge impact on the RV lifestyle in 2023. For some who are newbies, it gives them a chance to see if RV’ing is truly for them. For seasoned RV’ers, they can test out different models before actually making a purchase to see which one fits their RV lifestyle best. Outdoorsy not only rents coaches, campers, and fifth wheels, but you can also enjoy some vintage Airstream “glamping” for a change of pace. RV Share boasts that it’s the largest RV rental marketplace and has received thousands of review from happy campers. They offer third-party owned RVs ranging from pop-ups to luxury motor homes for short and extended rentals.

Technology is driving a better RV experience in 2023.
Just like smart phones, smart houses, smart TV’s, and smart cars, smart RVs are making their way along the road to progress, too. A smart RV uses technology to enhance a user’s experience in using the rig and the features inside of it. For instance, a smart RV can alert you when your internal engine temperature reaches a certain point, or if your tire pressure or fuel gets low. Most smart functions can be controlled through a smart phone or tablet, such as turning on and off lights, managing the awnings, and leveling the RV. Smart RVs take a lot of the guesswork out of RV’ing. Plus, there’s tech like Apple car play and factory installed solar and lithium setups as well, as well as heated floors, high-end appliances, and improved WIFI .connectivity with preinstalled routers, and RVs prewired for Starlink Internet.
2023 will also see another trend of RV’ers traveling to more unexpected destinations.
Of course, RV’ers will always flock to national parks, and for good reason. Few places are more inspiring that White Sands National Park or Yellowstone to name but a couple. But RV’ing is all about the experience, and there are many places off the beaten track that merit a visit. Why? They’re a great way to avoid large crowds, see rare sights, and make enjoy delightfully unexpected experiences. Badlands National Park in South Dakota is a good example. Or what about heading to Washington, D.C. to see the fireworks shot off from barges on the Potomac illuminating some of America’s most treasured monuments and memorials. You can also join your fellow Nomads with an RV trip to Las Vegas. There are numerous RV resorts near downtown and the Strip equipped with full hookups, lots of amenities, and near all the action.
