So you are the proud new owner of an RV that you found through Motor home Finders! Congratulations! If you are not a fulltime RVer then there might be plenty of times when your RV will sit in your driveway or wherever you happen to store it. Why not take advantage of the extra space and make the RV work for you? After all, you are still paying for it, even when you aren’t using it out on the road. Here are some ideas of how you can use your RV while it’s parked in your driveway.
Use your RV as a Guest Room
Do you have family or friends coming to visit? Is your house a bit on the smaller side? Using your RV as guest room from time to time is a great way to get some use out of it. Your guest will have everything they need and they will have a space of their own, all while being steps from your home. This can also be a great solution if your guests tend to stay up later than you. You can go to bed and they can stay up without bothering anyone.
Temporary Office Space in your Motor home?
While setting up a permanent office in a motor home is not a good idea, using the space occasionally to do some office work is practical. Sometimes when working you need a quiet space to make phone calls or concentrate on writing a report. Oftentimes, the home environment isn’t conducive to those things. Using your motor home as a remote office of sorts could be a great business move.
Your RV: Tailgating Heaven for the Die-hard Fan
Many motor home owners take their tailgating time to the ultimate level and bring their fully equipped motor home along for the pregame party. Are you having a reunion, party or event that could benefit from having a small mobile kitchen? Sometimes having a refrigerator, microwave or oven on-site can be really convenient when hosting a party. If your RV is equipped with appropriately sized appliances then you might consider putting them to good use!
Motor home Man Cave
Is your man rowdy when he watches his favorite sports team? Do you prefer to be able to watch something other than sports all day long? Send him out to the RV! He can enjoy his games without bothering you and you can enjoy doing what you’d like to do. This can be a two-way street, if you are the rowdy one maybe you’ll get sent out to the RV! Either way, having your own space is good from time to time.
Motor home Finders knows that the most important reason you purchased an RV was to travel, so there are several things to keep in mind when using your RV for other purposes. Never store food in your RV. You can bring food in while you are occupying the motor home but make sure to take it back out with you when you are done. Never use your RV for storage of any type. Books, papers, boxes and the like are much better kept in other areas such as garages or attics. Food and clutter can attract animals and pests. Certainly not something you would want to risk having a problem with when you go on your next trip. Always make sure you turn everything off and lock up when you are done. Don’t get lackadaisical because the motor home is in your driveway and maybe you plan to use it again tomorrow. It’s always better to err on the side of caution.
