Great fun for a good cause

We’re happy to say we’ve made many friends and happy customers at Lake Ashton in Winter Haven, Florida. It’s a very active RV-loving community, so when we were asked to be one of the many sponsors of the 6th Annual Golf for the Cure for Parkinson’s Disease, we jumped at the chance.

On April 11, more than 200 golfers hit both Lake Ashton courses in an effort to raise beat last year’s $48,000 donation to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. In the six years the tournament has been played, the good folks at Lake Ashton have raised more than $200,000 to fight this chronic, debilitating disease that affects one in 100 people over the age of 60.

Five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease, a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder. In the United States, 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s disease.

Team Fox is The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s (MJFF) grassroots community fundraising program. It is made up of thousands of people worldwide who raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease research. All funds raised through Team Fox go directly to MJFF to further its mission to accelerate the delivery of life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to people with Parkinson’s disease.

We were very proud to have been a part of this worthwhile cause, and look forward to helping raise even more money and awareness next year!
