Summer RV Destinations to Add to Your List

It’s that time of year again, RVers! The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, and you know what that means. We are fast-approaching summertime, so it’s time to start thinking about making plans for a summer RV trip. If you don’t have any ideas yet, we’ve got you covered, with four summer RV destinations that should definitely be on your travel bucket list.

Biloxi, Mississippi isn’t the first place many people think of when they think of awesome summer vacation destinations, but this coastal town has a lot to see and do. There are white sand beaches and prime seafood dinners. A casino town, Biloxi is full of exciting nightlife opportunities. A touching memorial to the destruction caused by hurricane Katrina stands in the center of town for you to visit. And every 4th of July, this military town puts on a stunning celebration.

Black Hills, South Dakota might be the best place in America to visit during the summer. Instead of frigid whiteness, the climate is pleasant, the foliage a verdant green, and the towns and parks full of interesting things to do. Sioux City, Rapid City, and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation are all within a short distance, full of western frontier history and scenic landscapes. The nearby parks are a great place to park your RV while you explore this time capsule region.

If you are a photographer, Jackson Hole, Wyoming needs to be on your summer travel list. It’s a haven for folks seeking the perfect shot, whether it’s the town, which looks like a page torn out of a picturebook of the Old West, or the breathtaking natural beauty of the snow-capped mountains surrounding it. RV parks in Jackson Hole are few and a bit pricey, but the experience is worth every penny.

Summer is a great time to visit the Great Lakes! Many of the RV destinations we recommend are places where you can explore mountain ranges straight out of a landscape painting or lush forests, but the Great Lakes boast plenty of natural wonder of their own, often overlooked. Lake Superior in Michigan is home to picturesque beauty, including the waterfalls, caves, and historic lighthouses of the Pictured Rocks Natural Lakeshore, plus all of the beach activities that summer calls for.
