Christmas Travel Basics for RV Owners

If you’ve decided to travel by motor home for Christmas this year, you’ve made a great choice.  Even if you’re not yet an owner are still looking for used RVs for sale, now is the perfect time to take the plunge. The ability to travel in a cozy place all your own, carrying all of the comforts of home, is the perfect way to make holiday travel—which can be awfully grueling—an enjoyable experience.

Here are a few tips from Motor Homoe Finders to make the experience even better!

Be Prepared for Winter Travel

The first step to a successful holiday trip is making sure that you can safely make the trip. Make sure that your tires are roadworthy, and, if necessary, invest in snow chains to help you brake and avoid slipping. Is your RV winterized? Cold temperatures can wreak havoc on pipes and fixtures that are used to warmer weather. Most importantly of all, be prepared to stay vigilant on the road. Combine unfamiliar roadways with potential ice and snow, as well as a higher volume of drivers on the road, and you’ve got a lot of potential for disaster. But if you’re careful and ready, you’ll be just fine!

Keep Your Family Traditions

Space is limited in a motor home, so going all-out on the Christmas decorations might not be the best idea. However, the smaller space provides an opportunity to reevaluate and determine which of your holiday traditions are the most important to your family. If your family loves decorating the tree, do it! It doesn’t have to seven feet tall; a miniature will do. Strings of Christmas lights add holiday cheer to your RV, inside and out, just like back home. Piles of presents take up way too much space, but wouldn’t it be neat if everyone got just one or two, very special gifts? Plan ahead with your family and come up with a holiday celebration plan that brings everyone Christmas cheer!

Making Christmas Dinner

One big tradition is the Christmas feast, and even if you’re planning on spending the holiday in your RV, you don’t have to skip it! Careful management of space and airflow will make sure you’re comfortable while preparing the food, and a wise selection of utensils and tools will make the work easier. Consider cooking the main course outside on a grill, while sides and desserts are prepared in the kitchen.

Whatever your travel plans this Christmas, we wish you a safe journey and a warm, love-filled holiday season! Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Christmas Gift Ideas for those looking for Luxury RVs for Sale from Motor Home Finders

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? …Who are we kidding? We haven’t either. Besides perhaps being in the market for a used class a motorhome for sale, there are all the other obligations we face this time of year.

But we are willing to share some ideas from our list to help you shop for the RV owners on yours. Gift ideas that are so simple that they are often overlooked, and so important that they show a rare thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

Gifts like…

A Travel Journal to Record Their Adventures

RVing is all about adventures and the treasured memories that come with them. Keeping a journal lets an RVer track of all of their road trip experiences. If your favorite RVer has a creative leaning and loves to express themself, this is a perfect gift. Bonus points if you get a customized cover that they’ll love!

Keeping Toothbrushes Clean and Secure

While on the road, it can be hard to keep your toothbrush clean and secure. The Pop-a-Toothbrush is a little box that hangs on the wall and makes sure two toothbrushes are protected from germs and not going anywhere until you need them. Toothbrush storage can be easily overlooked, even by the most seasoned RVers, so it’s a very thoughtful gift.

Clean Air, Anywhere

Natural air purifiers are compact and convenient, requiring no power to operate. They contain natural coals that suck up the nastiness in an RV’s air and ensures that its occupants breathe easy the whole trip. Clean air in a motor home is something that’s often overlooked, but this gift will definitely be appreciated once they experience the difference.

Taking Ownership of Their Campsite

One of the most thoughtful gifts you can give an RV owner is a personalized sign to help them make their RV or campsite feel more “theirs.” Make it yourself, order one, or commission an artsy friend to help you out. Regardless, we’re sure this will be a treasured gift!

And there you go! Something to get you started. Make your list, check it twice, and have an amazing holiday season!
