Locating the Best Monthly Site Rental for Your RV

RV Monthly Site RentalA motor home is a worthwhile investment for anyone with a love for adventure. Apart from the convenience of traveling to far-off destinations with friends and family, you also get to experience life on the road – the possibilities are endless. RV’s allow you to visit and explore a destination for any number of days you want. However, there is just one problem— a decent parking spot. This is where a monthly RV site rental comes in handy. How do you find the right one? Take a look at some important points below:

Basics of Renting a Site

The contract for most monthly RV site rentals lasts between three and twelve months. The campground gets its dues, and then you no longer have to worry about people hogging the best parking spots in the area. The price varies according to the park location and the rental package. Sites that are closer to tourist destinations command higher prices, as do the ones with additional amenities like satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, and hook-ups.

Make sure you assess the extra features offered with your site rental. You obviously don’t need the campground Wi-Fi if your vehicle already has its own alternative. So, make sure you choose the package carefully.

Ease of Booking a Rental Site

You should not have any trouble locating monthly RV site rentals. Most RV parks, national parks, and campgrounds offer this facility. The easiest way to find what you’re looking for is to conduct an Internet search. You can even ask a campground official. They will be more than happy to assist you as most of these places prefer to rent a site monthly rather than deal with the hassle of weekend visitors and last-minute arrivals.

Long-Term Monthly Rentals

There are a few RV parks providing only long-term renting options. The parking locations and services offered by these sites are of high quality, but they’re harder to avail as well. Although they often remain booked for years in advance, you can increase your chances by putting your name on the waiting list. This gives you a chance to grab the spot as soon as it opens up.

Finding a good monthly RV site rental is not the most difficult task in the world. Yes, it can be challenging for a new RV owner, but you soon get the hang of it. If you are looking for a used motor home, contact us today.

How to Maximize RV Space Utilization and Reclaim Your Privacy

RV Space UtilizationClass A motor homes average in size between 36 and 45 feet. Apparently, this might seem like a lot of space, but given the amount of furniture, fixtures, and appliances present, it is often not enough, especially if you’re traveling with others. The trick is to use the space efficiently so that each of you gets enough room and the much-needed privacy. Here are a few ideas:

Separate the Living and Sleeping Areas

It is easy to convert your sofa and dining table into sleeping quarters for the night. However, if young kids are present, you might need to leave the room so that they can fall asleep. A more efficient arrangement would be to invest in a quad bunkhouse. This means the kids get their own bed at the back while the “living” space in front can be used for entertainment and recreation.

Designate Private Spaces

Set aside a certain section of the RV for each person. Put up curtains so that these sections offer complete privacy when drawn. Personal belongings can be used to personalize these individual sections. Most importantly, everyone should respect each other’s privacy. This is a very important rule to enforce when privacy and space are at a premium.

Have Your Me-Times

Privacy is as much a psychological state as it is a physical space. Putting up curtains might help you get your own space, but you really have to belong to that ‘space’ to enjoy it. Don’t forget to squeeze out some ‘me-time’ when you enjoy doing what you love the most. It could be reading a book or listening to your favorite playlist. Have that ‘escape plan’ in place.

Everybody requires privacy. Even though an RV is supposed to bring people together and offer hours of endless fun on the road, all of us need some time alone. Of course, a larger RV provides more room for privacy. If you are in the market for one, we might have something that meets your requirements. Contact us today.

Choosing the Right Fuel Injector Cleaner for Your RV

Fuel Injector Cleaner for RVImagine you’re RVing down a deserted stretch of highway. It’s dark outside and the sooner you cross this stretch of road, the better. Suddenly, the engine starts sputtering and emitting smoke. In a matter of minutes, your motor home comes to a grinding halt. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? Being stranded in the middle of nowhere is no joke, and it’s your responsibility to make sure your engine is running smoothly at all times. This is where a fuel injector cleaner comes in handy. Fuel injectors are supposed to increase RV engine efficiency and offer the best performance. However, the large variety of fuel injector cleaners in the market makes it difficult to determine a suitable product for your RV. Check out the tips below to simplify the process and make the right decision:

Compatible with RV Type

There are two separate categories of fuel injector cleaners. One is meant for gasoline systems while the other is compatible with diesel engine systems. Depending on the type of fuel used to run your RV, you should choose the proper fuel injector cleaner.

Effective Carbon Removal

Carbon deposits accumulate on the RV engine over time and this greatly decreases the performance of your vehicle. When carbon gathers on your engine system, it also leads to increased fuel consumption. You require a good quality fuel injector cleaner to remove these carbon deposits carefully. This is not a one-time thing; repeated applications may be necessary.

Compatible with Variable Weather Patterns

Your RV travels can take you to different places, not all of which will have the same kind of weather conditions. This is why it’s important to pick a fuel injector cleaner that is capable of withstanding both low and high temperatures.

You should never compromise on the health of your motor home. Purchase an RV only after checking all of its parts. We have excellent, mildly-used RVs in our stock. Contact us to take a look at them today.

You Must Go! Hot Summer RV Destinations That Should be on Your List.

Summer is HERE and it’s the perfect time to travel anywhere in the US. So, get out your maps: we’ve got a few of the hottest summer RV destinations (pun intended)!

  1. Biloxi, Mississippi. When it comes to beaches, you probably think Florida. When it comes to casinos, Las Vegas. Biloxi is a town that has all that and more to offer, and is a great spot for anyone who wants fun in the sun and nighttime entertainment. As a military town, it’s also a terrific place to celebrate July Fourth, with a healthy dose of patriotism that is sure to bring a tear to your eye. For an awesome, affordable camping experience, check out the Gulf Islands National Seashore just a few miles out of town.
  2. Telluride, Colorado. There are few seasons more lovely than a Colorado summer. Experience it for yourself by visiting the town of Telluride, a tiny mountain town nestled into a breathtakingly beautiful valley. The town has its own campground that will put you right in the middle of the continuous and diverse schedule of summer festivals that Telluride puts on. Whether you like bluegrass, hot air balloons, wine, or all three, this is a perfect spot to spend an extended summer RV vacation.
  3. Fairbanks, Alaska. When you think Alaska, you probably think oppressive blasts of snow and white as far as the eye can see. During the summer, though, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more lush spot. Take the opportunity to make your way up north—WAY north—and experience it for yourself. RV enthusiasts recommend the River’s Edge RV Park in Fairbanks, and campground with all the amenities and a gorgeous location.

There’s plenty of adventure to be had out there, so hop in your RV and go have a blast this summer!

Your Awning is Your Best Friend This Summer

No matter where you travel this summer, your RV awning will be an invaluable asset that will keep you comfortable when the sun beats down. Make sure you follow these tips to keep it in the best possible shape and avoid any problems that might occur.

  1. Clean it regularly. Dirt and sediment can build up quickly, and compromise the integrity of the fabric. But don’t scrub too much! An overly enthusiastic scrubbing can remove the protective coating on the fabric and open you up to mildew or worse. Many RV awnings can simply be rinsed off with a hose.
  2. Keep the moving parts lubricated. Regularly apply oil to joints, pulleys and bearings to keep them in good working order.
  3. Always keep one side lowered to prevent water from pooling up.
  4. Never roll up a wet awning! Give it time to dry.
  5. Finally, use an anchoring device whenever possible to take stress off of the hardware, especially if you are leaving your RV unattended for a while.

While awning care might not be at the top of your mind when it comes to RV maintenance, with proper care, an awning can last many, many years, saving you a ton of money on replacements. So show your awning some love this summer! It really is your best friend in the sun.

Embracing Full-time Rving? How to Choose a Home Base?

Fulltime RvingMany of our clients happily embrace a life of full-time RV-ing. But before they drive away with one of our Class A motor homes, we usually tell them one thing—choose a state to use as their state of residency or ‘home base’. Wondering why that’s important? You will need to declare a single state as your legal home for tax, insurance, and other official purposes.

How to Determine Your Legal Base?

Legally speaking, you can be a resident of a state where you have the maximum numbers of ‘significant contacts.’  For some RV-ers whose contacts are spread all over the country, it becomes difficult to choose a particular state as their ‘home base.’ Throughout their lives they might have developed a vast network of ‘significant’ connections with respect to the following aspects:

•Location of workplace.
•Property ownership.
•Place where the driver’s license was issued.
•Place of voting.
•Place where a person’s will and other legal documents are registered.

If your significant contacts are spread across multiple states, don’t proclaim all of them as your legal residences. In such a situation, you will end up paying taxes to several states on multiple fronts. What is the way out? Find out the state that has the greatest number of your ‘significant contacts,’ and declare that as your legal home base. You can consult an attorney to take care of the paperwork involved in the process.

Choosing Home State on the Basis of Financial Benefits

The choice of your home base may affect your financial well-being differently. Consider the following state-specific expenses before choosing a state as your legal residence:

•Taxes including property, income, and sales taxes.
•Cost of both the RV and health insurances.
•Vehicle registration fee.
•Driver’s license fee.
•Emission testing fee.

It’s a natural tendency for RVers to move to the places where the above-mentioned expenses are minimum. However, while calculating the costs, don’t focus on just a single factor. For example, many RVers choose one of the no-income tax states (Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming) as their legal home thinking that this exemption will help them save a lot of dollars. However, in reality, you may not achieve any significant saving if the expenditure on other areas exceeds the income tax.

Full-time RV-ing is all about enjoying your life. So,while choosing the home base, do consider the factors that give you pleasure. For example, if staying in touch with your loved ones is important to you, choose a state where most of your near and dear ones live, even if it is expensive to have the home base there.

It is never too late to embrace a carefree lifestyle. So, start planning for life on the open road. If you need a luxury motor home for the adventure, contact us here.

3 Delaware Seashores to Explore This Summer

Delaware SeashoresIf you are looking for soft sand, uncrowded beaches, and sand dunes, hit the Delaware seashores this summer. The virgin beaches will let you experience the quietude on one hand and offer easy access to a few happening destinations in the vicinity, on the other hand. Here are a few select beaches to enjoy in the Free State:

Rehoboth Beach

Known as the nation’s summer capital, Rehoboth is free and family friendly.Features like lifeguards and umbrellas are available free of cost. During the summer months, the place is thronged by a number of Washington, D.C. tourists including prominent Congressmen and their families and friends. The one-mile long boardwalk is dotted with rides and games. There is an amusement center called Funland, which is famous for affordably-priced kid’s games including Wac-a- Mole, Flushing Meadows, and Frog Bog. The most exciting part is that kids are offered prizes simply for playing games out here. During the peak seasons, getting a parking spot can be a challenge. It will be better to park your RV in a nearby RV park and take a Delaware Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus to reach the beach.

Dewey Beach

This beach is just ideal for adults on the lookout for some nighttime excitements. If you are traveling with your family, spend the day at the Rehoboth Beach and head to Dewy to experience its nightlife. The beach is less crowded than Rehoboth but it has no boardwalk. Who cares for them anyway when you have miles of soft, sandy shorelines to indulge in a lot of fun activities along with your fellow travelers?

Delaware Seashore State Park

On the south end of Delaware’s coastline lies the Delaware Seashore State Park. A posh beach town, this state park offers an eclectic mix of miles of white dunes and ocean. If you want shallow water devoid of crushing waves, head to the Rehoboth Bay which lies just across the shore. Drive along the Coastal Highway to reach the bay area. Besides enjoying a splash in the warm water, here you can get to watch the antics of horseshoe crabs that are better known as ‘living fossils.’

Delaware may be small in size, but it’s by no means short on beauty or activities. So, head to the Free State this summer to enjoy its fantastic beaches. And in case you are looking for a well-maintained, used motor home, contact us here.
